Recipe du jour: Horchata Cafe

This tasty beverage combines two of my most favoritest flavors...the rice milk drink, horchata, and coffee. To serve more than one, multiply ingredients as needed.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup of coffee
  • 1 Horchata popsicle
Cooking Utensils and Cookware
  • microwave
  • coffee maker
  • microwaveable safe cup
  • mug
Directions

Brew a cup of coffee using coffee maker. I like to use fresh, cold filtered water. Using a microwaveable safe cup, melt an Horchata popsicle in the microwave for 30 seconds. Pour melted Horchata popsicle over coffee in a mug. Enjoy!

Recipe du jour: Tomato Sauce

This recipe is sensuously delectable and the perfect sauce for lovers of crock pot cooking everywhere. Serves many.

Ingredients
  • 4 cans of tomato sauce
  • 4 cans of diced tomatoes
  • handful of cloves
  • handful of dried rosemary
  • several generous dashes of dried oregano
  • several generous dashes of dried basil
  • plenty of dumpings of salt
  • several dumps of black pepper
  • many fresh, minced garlic gloves
Cooking Utensils and Cookware
  • crock pot
  • wooden spoon
  • can opener
  • large strainer
  • large bowl
Directions

Open cans of sauce and diced tomatoes with can opener and add to crock pot. Turn crock pot on to low setting. Add herbs and spices. Stir with love and gentle strokes. Sauce can be left to warm for 3 days on low. Strain it before eating.

You can add vegetables like a zucchini or two, a couple of sliced mushrooms, or egg plant for that special veggie delight. You can
pour this sauce over pasta or spaghetti squash.

*If you want to have some extra protein, be sure to use a lean meat like ground turkey.
